Scarlet Sombrero ref image

One of my favorite OC superheroes. Made when my dad got me a motor-scooter and suggested I ride around with a sombrero on. From that, a fast food mascot/superhero was born. From there, he went from Booster Gold-esque glory hound who occasionally turns out well to well-intentioned bumbler to generally liked dork. His ethnicity came from watching Blockbuster Buster's video on Latino heroes and he brought up that there weren't that many Puerto Rican superheroes. Then I figured "what the heck?" Originally had a bad case of Spanglish (where, to prove a character's Latino, they'd splice random Spanish into English sentences). He has, since, been updated and now kinda talks like Soos, seeming to be fond of the word "dude".

Aaron Rodriguez was considered a layabout nerd, mostly spending his time with comic books, playing video games, and consuming pop culture. His family kicked him out of the house, saying that he should make something of himself. Upon hearing of superheroes in the city of Kirby, Oklahoma, he moved to the mainland. He took on a minimum wage job at one of the local establishments, El Macho Pizza (specializing in the combination of pizza and Mexican food). He tried superheroing on the side, taking on the identity of The Scarlet Avenger...which only resulted in him getting beaten up a lot and being fired. He then had a chance encounter with a transforming alien robot that he dubbed Rojo. With the help of his new companion, he beat some supervillains, got his job back (albeit as a mascot), and managed to step up his game, superhero-wise, becoming a staple of Kirby's superhero culture and even an honorary member of The Elite.

Though he has no powers or skills, he's got an arsenal of high-tech alien weapons from Rojo. He can be rather creative in their use, too.

Scarlet Sombrero's an optimistic, cheery person. A nerd culture connoisseur, he's got a vast array of references to make. He's the sort of person who's utterly impossible not to like. He also has a bit of an aesthetic standard, often preferring to do things on whether or not they're "cool".
