Yep. I'm not doing ANY social/political commentary today. The problems will be there when I get back, so this is a time for celebration...like getting an American lunch for my walk back: cheese burger, Hostess apple fruit pie, and a Coca-Cola.

...Can I just say that the U.S. national anthem blows the British anthem out the water?

Hey, in your nation's defense, "God Save the Queen" had an instrumental done BY Queen.

Very true...

But I still say Jerusalem makes for a better anthem for our country. And we won't have to constantly change and tweak the lyrics, every time a new monarch of a different gender from the previous ascends to the throne.

...Fair point.

Personally, I think the Irish and Israeli national anthems are pretty cool ("Soldier's Song" being more energizing and "Hatikvah" being hauntingly beautiful).

Hatikvah is up there on my Top Five National Anthems list, actually. ^^;

Must admit, I also love the French national anthem.

Same here. And, because of my heritage, I've got a soft spot for the German national anthem.
