Question: Darkness. A force that hides and that brings powerful forms of magic in heroes and villains alike.
Steel: Like Raven, DC's empath/mystic...
Bella: And Maleficent, the Mistress of all Evil.
Question: Considering the miriad of abilities and powers the two have shown across the various mediums, we will be using composite versions of each character, to see which wielder has the mightier abilities based on what powers they bring to the table. Also, NO Les Yay moments, like in Elsa vs. Mizore-
Steel: I apologize for NOTHING...
Bella: Don't you have a girlfriend, Steel?
Steel: Oh crap...I'M SORRY, CEL! I CAN'T HELP IT! *begins crying*
Bella: Wow, he took that hard.
Question: They're Bella and Steel, I'm The Question, and it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to see who would win a Death Battle.
RAVEN:
Alias: Rachel Roth
Species: Human/Demon hybrid

Steel: When a woman was caught and raped by the demonic overlord known as Trigon, she got pregnant with a girl, who she left with monks in another reality called Azareth. Comic books are VERY weird.
Bella: Studying to control her emotions, the girl known as Raven returned to THIS world with the knowledge that Trigon would try to conquer it. Originally seeking the Justice League's help, she was rejected because Zatanna sensed her demonic heritage. Desperate, she reformed the Teen Titans as the NEW Teen Titans...with emotional manipulation.
Question: Questionable ethics aside, she helped them fight and seal away Trigon, but he still had some level of influence in her, allowing him to constantly try to regain control. This ended when he was purged from her mind...except when it was convenient for the writer.
Steel and Bella: CONTINUITY! Boom.
Question: ...Yes.
Bella: Raven's basically an ice chick. She tends to keep everyone at a distance and her emotions buried due to her tendency to control her powers.
Question: And she's also a...uh...pegasister...
Steel: QUICK! Seal THAT demon away!
Question: Right, doesn't exist.
EMPATHY:
Able to read and absorb the emotions of others
-Enables her to the feelings of others
Emotional Negation
-Able to steal emotions from others, leaving them emotionally “numb”
Empathetic Healing
-Able to use the emotions of others to heal injuries
-Does not work on major wounds
Bella: Raven's main power is empathy, the ability to read and absorb the emotions of others. With this power, she can tell what others are feeling as well as manipulate it.
Steel: Which sounds like at least one party in ANY relationship!
Question: Considering that she helped reform a team with this ability (which included tricking two members to think they were in a relationship), this ability is not to be taken lightly. She also has emotion negation, which can steal anyone's emotion, leaving them as an emotionless shell of what they once were.
Steel: Y'know, like Adam Sandler movies. Raven also brings in Empathetic Healing, where she uses the emotions she's absorbed to heal injuries. Unfortunately, this can't be used on serious damage, hence why she could only heal Robin's busted up arm to just a fracture. Well...THAT sucks.
TELEKINESIS:
Able to move things with her mind
-Phrase “Azerath Metrion Zinthos” enhances ability
Bella: Raven also comes with telekinesis...
Steel: Which requires that obvious statement. Y'know, “Azerath metronome whatever the crap that last part is”...
Question: Actually, it's only used as a power enhancement. With this power, Raven has proven to be quite
ASTRAL PROJECTION:
Able to separate her soul from her body for brief periods
-Used for meditative or offensive purposes
Makes use of her “Soul Self”
-Manifests as either human or raven
-Can attack, leaving enemies unconscious
-Can teleport herself and others
Bella: Since Raven's into meditation, she also makes use of Astral Projection. This allows her to separate her soul from her body...or her “Soul Self” as it's sometimes called, which either becomes a human or a raven shape. Personally, I always thought I'd be a pony.
Question: Though she sometimes uses this power for therapeutic purposes, like calming herself or an agitated ally, it can be used as an attack to leave enemies unconscious. She can also use her Soul Self to teleport herself or others to different locations...even other dimensions.
FLIGHT
Bella: Raven also has the ability to fly. Y'know...just FYI.
CHAKRA:
A small jewel on her forehead
-Helps keep her dark side in check
-Keeps control over her Soul Self's darker passions
Steel: The chakra, that little jewel on Raven's forehead, is more than just some New Age-y crap. It's also a further way to keep her emotions in check as well as put a damper on her Soul Self's darker passions.
WEAKNESSES:
Not that good in hand-to-hand combat

Bella: Raven DOES have some downsides, though. As expected, she's not good in hand-to-hand combat.
Steel: And, if she loses control of her emotions, she pretty much goes ape-crap on the person causing it. Case and point, Doctor Light. Think the JUSTICE LEAGUE screwed with his head? That was just messed up, dudes.
Question: That being said, Raven is a powerful force for good in my home universe. But, how will she hold against someone from the opposite end of the spectrum?
Raven: Now, I unleash Hell!

Bella: She's the mistress of all evil, arguably the most powerful of Disney's pantheon of villains. But...what was her backstory?
Question: A question none of us were asking, but got answers to, anyway.
Steel: HOORAY! I can't WAIT for that to be made into a movie that's mediocre at best!
Question: Originally a good fairy, living in the moors of a magical kingdom. Odd since her name means "harmful or evil intent".
Steel: Eh, probably gave it to herself. MY name's a slang term for "to dance on a corpse you just decapitated". Ya think I was GIVEN that?
Bella: Or her parents never got over her Terrible Twos.
Question: Moving on from pointless speculation, she met a young farm boy named Stephen and, as the years passed, the two developed a close bond. Then a nearby kingdom declared war on her moors because he thought she was too powerful-
Steel: Translation: "It was a dull Tuesday".
Question: Unfortunately, she thwarted his plans and mortally wounded him. Due to having no heirs, he said that the man who brought Maleficent's head would be the next king. So, seeing an opportunity, Stephen found Maleficent, tricked her, and cut off her wings.
Steel: Naturally, she didn't take that too well. So, she became an EVIL fairy and vowed to ruin his life the way he ruined hers. This involved cursing his daughter to die when she turned sixteen, capturing her betrothed Prince Philip, and covering any way in and out of the kingdom.
Question: During a final battle where King Stephen had lost his mind...
Bella: Then again, who're WE to criticize? DEFYYYYYING GRAVITY!
Steel: Chainsaws.
Question: Point taken. During the final battle, her wings returned to her...because magic, allowing her to defeat him and bring about a new golden age.
Steel: And there was much rejoicing!
Bella: Hooray.

Question: Maleficent's magical powers seem to be unlimited, she herself openly boasted about having the powers of Hell. But she does have some definable magical abilities.
Steel: Maleficent can fire blasts of lightning and teleport in bursts of fire. She also has terrain control, able to make thorny vines erupt from the ground. It's also implied that she can control the weather.
Bella: Through the powers of D-Links, she also has various magical abilities from the Kingdom Hearts universe. Obviously, she has the Fire, Fira, and Firaga spells, which release increasingly more powerful fireballs as well as the Dark Firaga, which sends a fireball that homes in on an enemy. She also has the Dragonfire spell, which sends a fiery blast at her opponents.
Steel: She's also got the Ignite a sets an enemy on fire and slowly eats away at her while the Thunderchaser, which chases down the enemy, releasing a bolt to hit enemies from the sky. She's also got the Binding Strike, which holds an enemy in place, leaving them open to attack.
Question: For status damage, her spells include Sleep, which leaves an opponent in a comatose state for a brief period of time. If she lands a blow, she can use the Drain spell, which drains enemy health.
SHAPESHIFTING
Able to turn into a massive dragon
Steel: But Maleficent's most iconic spell involves shapeshifting, namely to turn into a massive, fire-breathing dragon.
Question: Though this can also be attributed to her pet Raven, which-
Steel: *springs on Question and starts strangling him* WE'RE NOT GONNA REFERENCE THAT! THAT WAS A STUPID MOVE! I'LL KILL YA, VIC! KILL YA-
Bella: This dragon is immensely powerful, can destroy magical items, and can only be killed by good magic, or as we in the industry call it, a deus ex machina!
Question: Still shocked Steel needed that much tranquilizer...
Steel: (dazed) I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...
WINGS
Capable of flying at high-speeds and creating gusts
Steel: Being a fairy, Maleficent has her wings. When they returned to her, she regained their full use, despite being separated for about two decades. LIKE MY RIGHT FOOT!
Question: ...These wings are capable of giving her high-speed flight and can create powerful gusts of winds.
WEAKNESSES
Iron
-Burns fairies
Good magic
Low defenses
Bella: Even Maleficent has her weaknesses. To start, she has a weakness against iron, which is a natural weakness against her kind, as it burns them.
Steel: She's also weak against good magic, which was able to pierce the powerful scales of a dragon. And she has low tolerance for physical pain. Mistress of All Evil bruises easily, who'd have thought?
Question: Yet, out of all of Disney's pantheon, Maleficent stands out as arguably the worst and most evil of villains. But how shall she fare against someone of similar powers...but uses them for GOOD?
Maleficent: You poor, simple fools. Thinking you could beat ME? Me, the Mistress of ALL EVIL!
